Aboriginal Cultural Showcase

The AboriginalCultural Showcase ("Showcase") and Buddy Knox Talent Contest are held annually during the Tamworth Country Music Festival (TCMF) as a celebration of Aboriginal culture, creativity and community pride. Touted as Australia’s biggest festival, TCMF is estimated to attract between 30,000 and 50,000 visitors to Tamworth each year. Aboriginal musicians first identified a gap in the support available for Aboriginal talent within the Festival, in 2006, and the Showcase has run every Festival since 2007.  

The Showcase provides an opportunity to feature some of the best Aboriginal talent at the Tamworth Country Music Festival on a dedicated stage in the heart of the Festival footprint. The event brings together performers, families and community members to highlight both established and emerging Aboriginal talent.The program combines cultural performance with youth-focused opportunities and pathways, providing a supportive stage for local artists while also strengthening connections within the community.
