About the Programs

The Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council delivers the Bounce Back Program as part of its Safety and Wellbeing initiatives. The program is designed to support the safety, wellbeing and resilience of Aboriginal young people in the Tamworth community.

Bounce Back focuses on building youth engagement through positive recreational opportunities in a safe and supportive environment. The program aims to create meaningful connections while strengthening confidence, life skills and overall wellbeing.

The Bounce Back program operates on a flexible register-and-attend basis, meaning there is no requirement for prior confirmation. Attendance is entirely at the participant’s discretion, and registering for the program does not obligate them to attend every session.

The objectives of Bounce Back are to:

  • Provide diversionary activities for at-risk youth aged 11–20 years
  • Decrease harmful and anti-social behaviour
  • Build confidence and capacity, while offering support and education to participants
  • Increase life skills within the target group

Through structured recreational activities, strong community partnerships and ongoing support, Bounce Back provides young people with positive alternatives, encourages personal growth, and promotes safer community outcomes.
